About StrongED Instructions
StrongED already comes with quite comprehensive instructions in StrongHelp format. But StrongEHelp is not amenable to any contents or indexing system, so it is very difficult to know what is in there. Writing these instructions is forcing me to understand StrongED - hopefully I can pass that understanding to readers. Hopefully they will learn as much in the process as do I.
As this is a work in progress, your questions and criticisms are valuable. Please contact me!
These instructions are divided into sections. Each section has a different background colour.
- Simple instructions: installing, setting up etc.
I have started these - but the info is already in the StrongHelp supplied with the stable release. Other pages are more urgent!
- More technical instructions which should be within the grasp of most users. Please ask if you do not understand.
- Technical reference section
- Indexes and lists
Most users will usually want to go to the main index page which has several columns so you can better chose what page or context may better suit your query.
Links that are coloured (as outlined above) on this index should work. Uncoloured links are to pages that need to be written, so please start writing.
The index itself is expanding rapidly so please suggest new entries.
I welcome help and contributions. These can be in plain text or html. The project is young, so almost any feature of StrongED is grist for your mill. Check the site and the main index to see what has already been done.
How to send
The directory ToDo/contrib/ is available for uploading: contact me for password etc (if you haven't had it via the mailing list). If you upload html to this directory you should be able to view it - a template file is there for you to use.
Plain text is fine, too. You can also send contributions by email. If ftp is not suitable for you, let me know and I can arrange an upload page which will enable any browser to upload files.
