So do I but not every human browser is as capable as the users of this
list. Most users I encounter have no idea you can add things like 'site:'
to a search; on-page searches can do that for them.

(Cue anyone who wants to jump in and say they didn't know about 'site:'
either)

Also, 42% of the users of one of my sites are using mobile devices so I'm
trying to make their experience as simple as possible without them
abandoning the site.

It's not as if on-page searches are intrusive or stop you doing something
else, is it?
