I had not considered that. Maybe I'll try it.

But another option I hadn't tried before is using !Transfer2.

I can calculate both strings then drop the calculation on Transfer and
release it into the S&R window. I have just tried this with a simple case.
I tried using |i as the TAB but, weirdly StrongED simply accepts the | as
the TAB character. 

But it looks like this may be my simplest solution.
