Yaaay!  4.70a12 loads happily now.  Thanks, Fred.

I had also re-done the business of changing "CtrlTab" to "Regular" in 
all Mode files (in both default and userprefs directories), as 
detailed in the instrux on the StrongEd "download > test release" 
webpage.
