The problem is that there may be differences in how StrongED/modes are
structured internally. An updated version might have a directory layout
that is different.
It's one of the reasons why I don't like the 'drop new over old' method
of updating an application. It forces authors into keeping the internal
layout the same even when an altered layout would be beneficial.
