Thanks for these points, Fred. I had not appreciated them before. I have updated
Riscosblog appropriately. Do you have any suggestions, appropriate for
beginners, for things to do with a new mode? I thought that a part 2 could
broach the business of adding menu or toolbar items, and the business of putting
commands into the ModeFile.

I am acutely aware that how I have got used to using StrongED may be quite
different from other people's habits. So I need to lots of feedback
to produce balanced advice.
