Was that with a default BaseMode or had changes been made to it?

I have found a bug in 4.70a4 which is triggered by a mode having
duplicates in its SyntaxWords groups. Have look to see if that's the
case in your BaseMode ModeFile.

I tried it on Windows 7 with RPCemu (0.8.9, 256 MB) but it ran without
any problems.

Yes, that's surprising. I don't have an answer right now about what
might be causing this. Does reducing the amount of memory fix it on the
Mac too?
