Glad to hear it was useful. I'm a bit surprised though that you as a
seasoned StrongED user didn't know about Ctrl-drag. Maybe I should post
such recipes more often, kind of 'tip of the day'.

Yes, I found that nyself too. I've now changed how a view is opened. If
there's an alert window open and the view is to be opened at front then
it's opened behind the alert window.
You can re-open the alert window by using cs-E. The window then stays
open (until you hit cs-E again or Escape) so you can read the message
at your leisure.
