[StrongED] StrongED scripts; a problem.

In the past I've used Gavin's scripts with no problem. Now, I don't 
seem to be able to make any of them work! This is with an ARMini, RISC 
OS 5.19 and (16 May 2012) and StrongED 4.69a7.

It's been happening for some time, and I should have got round to 
reporting it long before now, but the unfriendly nature of the error 
message has deterred me till now. It isn't the normal error message 
that gets caught by WimpLog, but one of those pesky ones that appear 
in a small box with "Press space or click mouse to continue", so it's 
a fundamental pain to record it :-(   While the error box is there, 
the egg-timer continues to run.

Anyway, I have finally got a round tuit, and have copied the error 
message painfully and manually to VRPC, hoping that I got it right. As 
a demonstration, I shift-dragged the romnum script to the Apply icon 
in a StrongED window, with a Roman number in it, and the error message 
(e&oe) is:

which is totally Greek to me. There is an empty file called "in" in 
StrongED's Choices directory, but not one called "out".

Please, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks to anyone
