Understand.. For the moment I'm simply replacing \x0D with \x0A which
works fine.

And brings me back to the possibility of inproving the search and replace
so Search string and replace string are locked together: not easy you said!

Is it possible to use a macro to 'fill in' the S & R window? For instance
\x0D|i\x0A|m fills in Search string and replace string, but does not tick
'Advanced'
