An odd behaviour... I tried an advance search
**"xx" in the search where xx is a string that does not occur in the text.
"anything" as the replace string.

SEd goes into a loop, not finding the search string, hourglass running.

I had hoed that it would search to the end of the file and add the replace
string. No such luck!
