This can be achieved more quickly by clicking Adjust over StrongED's
iconbar icon and then clicking Ctrl-Select over the JR menu entry.

Thanks John, I've now seen the bug and it seems to be related to folding
as turning the option 'Open text folded' off makes the error go away.
Don't know yet why it happens though, will keep digging.
