[StrongED] an occasional inconveniece

For one of my modes I have ticked "Don't let Delete delete newlines"

This is what I want most of the time as I can delete to end of line by 
holding down the delete key without it deleting half the next line 
before I notice.

However, sometimes I would like to over-ride this so that I can join 
two lines with a forward delete.

I know I can go to the next line and use backspace delete but this is 
not so convenient. On other editors I have used this was made possible 
by using a shift key in combination with the delete key to delete the 
eol character.

Is it possible to do this in StrongED? I have not been able to find it 
in the documentation.
